The creature is almost certainly a Chinese knockoff of Littlest Pet Shop. I applied a torch overlay to the petals at the end of its antlers.
The sky is from a shot of Ocean Beach. I used a gradient map with Hard Light blend mode to simulate a soft sunset atmosphere. It would have been great to have the sun in the shot, but I didn't have any photos that worked.
The rocks are just pebbles from my yard. They and the ruined castle in the background anchor the scene by providing immediate foreground and background interests.
It's difficult to come up with ideas for a scene. Once that is done, the picture taking is just a technical exercise. The rest of the work is done in Photoshop to achieve that visual punch.
