Sometimes the accessories included with the figures lend themselves to fun ideas.

Not today, Galvatron!
I tried to keep it simple today. No painstaking cut-outs this time. The background is just a blue poster board. There was a lot of fiddling with the figures and trial and error to get the composition that I wanted though. FansToys Sovereign stood in for Galvatron. His angry face works so well for this kind of scene. DX9 Carry stood in for Hot Rod's arm. I could have used Masterpiece Hot Rod, but I didn't want to deal with the height disparity between the two figures. The trickiest part was dealing with the Matrix. At first I tried to suspend it from string, but then realized I'd have to clean it in Photoshop so I simply resorted to balancing it on Sovereign's chest. The glow effect is from Inner and Outer Layer Style effects along with a Lens Flare render.

Fans Toys Insecticons
The Fans Toys figures just barely edge out the Badcube Collector's Edition for a spot on my MP shelf. These figures are weighty and fun to pose.
Instead of my DIY light box, I used an actual light tent to take shots of the figures. That, plus learning how to use the histogram on my camera, made the photography process so much easier this time. Chrome is still a pain though. The majority of the time was spent trying to blend them into the foliage.
I've not been to a swamp so I used a shot from Manoa Falls in Oahu as the background.
I added a circular purple to orange gradient layer as an overlay to give a warmer feel to the lighted area and a cooler feel to the shadowy area.

Run, Blaster! Save yourself!
Interestingly, Tesla is able to hold Rumble and Ratbat in his hands. Unfortunately, his articulation is somewhat limited so I couldn't reproduce the kneeling stance he had in The Movie. I'm still trying to figure out how to make the shadows look more natural.
The cannon is from TFC Toys Thanatos with his body masked out. The tower and and floor are from clone stamping panels of his body with the borders and edges smudged out.
I created the window frames by cutting out and transforming a section of a set of Mechanical Chain Base panels. I really need to learn how to add a shiny glass effect.
The sky, clouds, mountains, and trees are from a local park.
